I always wanted to try my hand at blogging, so I figured why not have a blog about us and what's been going on in our lives.

SPI Trip Cont. (Crab Hunting)
Saturday night after everyone else was in their room, Gene and I sat outside with our drinks and just enjoyed the salty sea air. We then noticed people out on the beach with flashlights and wondered what was going on. After a few minutes we decided to head down there and see what was going on. Using our lights on our cell phones we started looking around and noticed some shells. We walked along the surf and I looked down and noticed a spotted shell half buried in the sand and reached down to dig it out. Well to my surprise two small pinchers reached up and almost got me and I screamed my head off! Gene grabbed the spotted crab from the back and I took a picture of it. So now we know what all these people were doing on the beach at night with flashlights! We walked around some more and came across another type of crab which I call Ghost Crabs as they are extremely fast and here one minute and gone the next.
We decided we need to tell the rest of the bunch when we get back to the condo as we know how much Dylan loves stuff like that.
The group decided to go crab hunting the following night and these were a couple of pictures I took of what we found. Needless to say, after that night I hardly got back into the ocean!

one of MANY Ghost Crabs we caught
Man-o-Wars: these were the reason I didn't want to get back in the ocean after this hunting trip! there were SO many on the beach every night since Sunday until the day we left.
Dylan was in heaven catching all these crabs, but he was sad that he couldn't keep em after!!

My brother, Glen and his family and the both of us planned this trip for over 6 months. We decided to get a two bedroom condo on the beach and stay for a whole week. The next few posts are pictures I've taken during our trip.

Moving On
Last year we decided to put our old place up for sale as we were extremely tired of the crazy high electric bills associated with living in a mobile home. Also the expansion of the highway in front was another motivation that it was time to move on. We place our house on the market in May and it sold at the end of July.
We ended up moving into a brand new apartment complex in Jarrell, where we live in a two-story townhouse. It's so much nicer than we'd imagine. Plus it's so nice to have a normal electric bill! This is only temporary until we can get Gene's credit squared away so we can buy a new home, which hopefully will be sometime in the beginning of next year.

Celebrated 15th Wedding Anniversary!
06/13/12 was a wonderful milestone for the both of us. We celebrated 15 wonderful years of martial bliss! The good Lord has definitely blessed us with a strong and loving marriage! Each year that goes by I realize how much Gene means to me. He's always been my rock, cheerleader in life, lover and most importantly, my best friend. He's stuck with me through hardships, but thankfully, we've had more ups then downs. Looking back I can't picture what my life would have been like if I never met him. He truly is my better half and I wouldn't change a thing if I had to start it all over again! I pray that God blesses us with many, many more years to come.
Also, I had to post that my lovingly awesome hubby came home from work with this gorgeous bouquet for me! I love him SO very much!!
